GajaPuri Resort and Spa Ko Chang Koh Chang Bungalows Thailand

My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights in late April 2009. We had just come back to Koh Chang, after spending some days in the smaller islands of Koh Mak Koh Rayang and after a little luxury! We had a 'Garden' room - the other (more expensive), the options are 'Jacuzzi' rooms', beachfront rooms and villas with private pools.

I really liked our room - the bed was very comfortable and spacious (king size +), with the air is great, there is a TV and CD / DVD player (there is a good DVD library at reception), comfortable robes and slippers safe, complientary mini-bar, which was re-stocked every day (this was actually a really nice touch), umbrella (we did a huge storm during our stay and needed to get to breakfast), and both the room and fourth bathroom (with large walk-in shower and bathroom) are a good size.

GajaPuri Resort and Spa Ko Chang Koh Chang Bungalows The breakfast buffet (included) was lovely - very good coffee, and that will make you fresh eggs anyway you like to go with the other items being offered (fruit, cereal, juices, pastries, toast, rice, bread French Toast, bacon, sausages, etc.). Do not eat at the pool bar or the hotel at night. The prices are much higher than outside the body, and the main area of Kai Bae is right at the door. We preferred to walk along the beach to a restaurant at night.

Pool area was very quiet and relaxing - including towels and sun loungers are very comfortable.

The only disadvantage is the Gajapuri their position on a rocky stretch of beach - the rocks look very far, and they are exposed to most of the day. You need water shoes to go here if you do not want to hurt yourself! The main beach of Kai Bae is a ten minute walk along the coast. The resort has a kayak you can borrow, but it is very difficult to get out to clear water (we've tried!).

GajaPuri Resort and Spa Ko Chang Koh ChangIn general I would recommend Gajapuri like we had a great few days there. It is more expensive than a lot of Thailand accommodation (we paid 4000 baht per night), but still more reasonable that the accommodation of this standard would be in Europe or elsewhere.GajaPuri Resort and Spa Ko Chang
